How to Stay on Top of Your Business Planning

Business Organization
Have you ever been at your office at home or at work and felt as if you were untidier and unorganized as usual?  When you are unorganized, you may feel like you cannot follow through with your plans or ideas.  I too understand this bad habit of not being organized, because I have to fix this daily, until it is an automatic priority.  I am a student in my master’s degree in Entertainment Business.  I have learned so many things in school and in life to help with planning, and I hope to share with you some of my wisdom and insight.  When you are un-organized the first thing to think about is you and your business, if you stay this way things may fail and become ruined for you and your business.  One of the things I would say is that you need to admit and know that being unorganized is an issue and a negative trait to have in a business.  Once you understand that you have an issue then you usually can work on trying to correct the problem, or issue and get some good results.  Pre-planning is always a great thing to do to help organize and plan.  Find out who all you have as far as people that will help you find resources that can help you get the things and tools that you need. You need to know what is a priority to you what should be first, second and last.  Get a note pad and gather your ideas sometimes seeing it down on paper is a better visual way of being organized, get off of using the computer for a moment.

One of the newer subjects I am learning is finance and in finance, you have to keep track of all of your assets.  Our instructor gave us a great tool called the Pro Forma to keep your numerical information for your business in tact, which is a great and beneficial tool for your business.  The Pro Forma talks about putting your business ideas to numbers, and to help in the lessons of personal finance and financial planning as stated by our instructor (Wolfe 2015) from the Pro Forma Template.  If you know where all your money is going to, where your workers are and what other necessities you need you can visit the sheet and keep notes to stay organized with the things that you need to do or have done already.  There is no right or wrong way to be organized, but finding a way that is comfortable for you is a good idea.

In conclusion, knowing how to plan things will help you stay on top of your business and you will have an opportunity to become very successful, if you can make your knowledge and organization work for you.  In order for you to be different, unique and to distinguish yourself from other businesses, you have to stand out and people will notice your organization skills before they even learn about what you do, or anything about your business.  Take time out to get your finances in order, your people in unity, and your notes and thoughts organized.  I hope this blog was something that gave you an insight on something that you may have procrastinated about or left out of your planning stages. Have a productive day.
