BLOG Post Product Artist Management

In the video that I watched from 1 Million Cups, Hailey Besheer spoke in her presentation about MADI Apparel (Make a Difference Intimate Apparel).  One of Hailey’s strengths was that she was very confident in the beginning of her speech.  Hailey was speaking on her products and services that the donations from people would be used effectively, and would affect other woman, give them comfort, and a sense of understanding.
What I felt that was compelling about what Hailey spoke of was the way she made the underwear seem like art in her video (as far as her marketing strategy).  I liked that she used models and different people in her video, because when she first opened up I was thinking “panties ok weird,” But then she explained it a little better.
I felt Hailey spoke on why the customers/people might want to buy their underwear in good detail.  In Hailey’s presentation, some weaknesses that I would say she had; was the slides.  I felt it was a little cluttered and I got lost a little.
I do not think that Hailey didn’t speak much on the products and services that she offered and this could be considered a weakness because we should know as the audience, what makes her different from what’s already out there.  Hailey did not have to many answers, when people asked her about other marketing ideas, other companies and retail stores.  Hailey did not seem like she researched too many of the other companies.  I did not hear her introduce herself to the audience and say her last name throughout the entire speech, to let us know exactly who she was.  I did not feel that Hailey maintained backup plans, which we are reading about in our chapter in our book (MCGRAW-HILL 2015).  In marketing you always want to have a plan b or a back up plan ready, just in case things do not go as planned.  Hailey seemed a little startled and used non-fluency within her speech, and probably should practice public speaking; this may be a good suggestion to help with that.  Hailey spoke about social media as far as getting her information out, but I felt that also just going out and giving out information in the community, and places that might do similar things would help her spread the word.  Social media is not the only way to network and get information out.
In conclusion, Hailey did well.  Hailey discussed the main things that were needed for her presentation.  Hailey’s products and services were all organized.  I felt overall that Hailey did well in my book for her presentation.
