Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution Course Film and Television blog

My chosen career/field area of business, and professional interest would be Film and TV.  Film and TV consumes my resume, and background information, because I have been doing it for over 10 years now.  I work on my own business ideas and content and I love learning different ways to make it better.  The Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution class at Full Sail University has made my eyes be open too many more tactics, and opportunities, helping me to learn to do better in my personal industry with distribution.  I will give some suggestions and advice on an article I read in Variety about The New York Times has changed its film review policies, and the paper is now telling film publicists that it can no longer guarantee its critics will weigh in on every film that screens in the city.  This article leads me to publishing and distribution issues that are relevant to my field of interest.  Even though you may have smaller art house distributors and VOD companies, you still need to know the proper channels to make things work for you as a distributor and get your content seen and distributed.  One of the things that I would suggest is to first build a brand, branding is so important because it will get you noticed first.  Secondly, you have to make sure people like your content.  It is good to get it previewed by your audience or even good friends or people around rather its film or books, you should try to get the honest opinion of others to see who is your target audience and what kind of demographics you will be choosing.  Knowing your rights in film and television is very important because people will not take advantage of you if you know your stuff.  If you are aware of what is the niche and what people are looking for you can cater to the needs of that type of audience and produce what they are looking for.  In conclusion, distribution is key and it is all over social media and in this world of new technology on new ways to get out there, and be established.  We all just need to link together as a group and help each other because you have music, game and many other sources that we can all network together with, and build something dynamic in TV and in film. Film and TV has many scopes, so stay tuned in, to read about more things.
